An excellent two days of racing at Camp Fortune, great snow conditions and excellent work by all the volunteers. Thanks to all the NCO parents as well as the volunteers from all over the region helping make this event a success. Coaches and athletes from all over Quebec, Ontario and USA, always look forward to racing at Camp Fortune for the challenge of the hill and the hospitality in the Ottawa area. This event is a true test of slalom skiing throwing everything at the athletes.

This year once again delivered a good show.  The ROC decided to change to setup this year and have the boys and girls alternate tracks on Friday and Saturday.  Luckily our girls were ready for the demands of the 'Chute' on Friday; Randa managed a solid result, finishing 4th J1. The Quebec Team girls took most of the hardware on the weekend, sweeping the overall podium on day 1, day 2 Madi Irwin from the Ontario Ski Team took the gold ahead of the Quebec provincial team girls.

On the boys side, we saw some solid skiing from the NCO crew, and alot of fight on their home hill.  Mat Fournier and Mitch Bott notched the top NCO results on the weekend. Mitch Bott, first year FIS athlete from Calabogie Peaks was the top 1993 born athlete on day 2, finishing 32nd overall from the 82nd bib and scoring an 80 FIS point result, great result.

Charly Ligety took first place on both days.  He is a collegiate athlete, racing out of Dartmouth. NCO alumni and CAST member Dustin Cook was racing on day 1, he came 2nd, winning the second run.  He is now off to Austria for more training before the World Junior Championship, best of luck!!!
